Vietnamese – Chinese cuisine Festival

Tet Nguyen Tieu (also known as Thuong Nguyen Ceremony, Hoa Dang Ceremony) is an remarkable annual event (similar to the Lunar New Year) among the Vietnamese and Chinese in Saigon. Since 1990, the Nguyen Tieu Festival has been held on the occasion of the full moon in lunar January every year, attracting thousands of people to attend, play and shop.

This year, The Festival has been recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage, it is going to be expanded with special content such as flower car parade, Bat Tien on stilts, Phuc Loc Tho, dragon lion dance, folk music, Vietnamese poetry night,etc. with the participation of Minister leaders, City leader and representatives of District 5 , 6, 11. The event is expected to attract thousands of people to play and shop.

To serve a large number of participants, the Organizing Committee organizes “Vietnamese – Chinese cuisine space” and “Market of lucky fortune” with more than 100 stalls in the Cultural Center of District 5 (on Tran Hung Dao street, the most hustle & bustle area in District 5) from February 19 – February 28 2021 (10 lunar days from January 8 to January 17).
